Thunder & Heaven
Walking across the painted white boards,
I gaze across a dark field of grass,
The roar of thunder and flashes of lightning a pure pure white,
The cool breeze before the storm washes over me,
It tickles my feet and caresses my skin as I stand on the porch.
The smell of grass wafts over me, the rustle of trees like the whispers of angels,
I fall into a chair, lost in a feeling felt once in a lifetime.
A feeling of peace so right, it feels like you're falling.
I let the feeling wash over me, though my soul, heart, flesh, and skin.
A kind of high no drug could never reach. Feeling so high that Heaven is only a foot away.
An escape from the madness we every day feel,
Oh God, this feeling, this feeling.................it's so unreal.
Such a feeling is an escape to a world we long to stay in forever.
Like floating, suspended in a world of pure white light,
No problems, no stress, no fear in sight.
I want to just die, to escape all my pain,
But i know my time is not now, not just yet,
So I pull myself from that beautiful place,
I look around one more time at the wonderful wonderful scene,
And I leave that world behind, to return one day far from today,
Maybe I'll return with my angel, my Alyssa, hand-in-hand,
Walking towards a world where The War is won.

My only goal now...is to live.
-----------
My scars remind me of things in which I can not forget. To forget such things is to forget life itself...Who wants to forget life? ...not I...not I...
